Dr. Thierry Léger is Senior Associate Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Professor of French. He was born and raised in Normandy, France. Since joining Kennesaw State University in 1997, he has taught French language and literature in the Department of Foreign Languages and has held various administrative positions.

As Senior Associate Dean, Dr. Léger’s main responsibilities include overseeing graduate programs and Centers, promoting research with a focus on grants and contracts, and handling staff and faculty matters (hiring, performance, promotion, etc.). He has published widely on author J.-M.G. Le Clézio, the winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Literature. His research interest includes intercultural communication, linguistics, and contemporary French and Francophone literature. In 2016, he co-directed the publication of two volumes: “La Violence dans les premières œuvres,” Les Cahiers J.-M.G. Le Clézio, nº 9, Éditions Passage(s); Nouveaux Discours de la Francophonie à l’heure des grands défis mondiaux, Paris, L’Harmattan. Dr. Léger is an editor of the KSU Department of Foreign Languages Undergraduate Online Journal Kennesaw Tower and the Co-Executive Director of the CIÉF [Conseil International d’Études Francophones, International Council on Francophone Studies].
