The next Georgia Youth Science & Technology Centers' STEM Saturday session, "Adventures in Archaeology," is on Saturday, January 27, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with KSU Associate Professor of Anthropology Dr. Teresa Raczek. Kids (grades 3rd-8th) will become junior archaeologists to learn about the ancient people who once lived at an archaeological site. They will collect artifact replicas from a reconstruction of a 9000-year-old house and then analyze them to learn about the daily life of the people who lived there. Students will also have the opportunity to examine stone tools, pottery, and animal bones, as well as other artifacts.
